Amendment to the Pass Placement System
February 7, 2007
To: All MPF Coaches and League Members

In an effort to scale down the actual game of football and to simulate this in all areas, while understanding that this is a sports strategy game. We further separate ourselves from the current game “Electric Football ". This amendment aids in this endeavor.

As in real football, (the design for the MPFL) the receiver runs a pass route, or block on a run play, this is clearly visible by what we see on TV. We also see this in little league, Jr High, High School, College, Pro.

The DB can take a strategic position to aid in pass coverage in order to take away types of pass routes. This is achieved through the defensive alignment, and player execution. The bump that the DB does is to disrupt the timing between the QB and the receiver.

But in the current game of EF, this is not adhered to; mugging the receiver at the line is not pass coverage, but a poor reflection of the game of football.

Figures have been made to aid in the EF game play. Figures like BuzzBall's Hammer and LT Lookdown are designed to hook another figure.

In the MPFL Rule Book, page 12, and page 33-#2 clearly addresses this issue.   These Figures Are Prohibited! No Exception!

Also in the rule book page 11 point #4 States, “Do not look for loopholes to gain an advantage in the system "!

This amendment will cause for a greater ability to coach your team and not simply rely on a figures design, base tweaking, speed only, or strength only.

Rules Amendment

With the new passing amendment the use of magnets will change a little.

The Defensive player on a magnet has established his position on the field.

The Offensive player can not be directed at the defender on a magnet to force him to move on a pass play, but must go around that player who has established his position by magnet. If the WR inadvertently hits a defender on a magnet this is not a penalty. Simply make the correction. If No correction is made then it will be a penalty on the offense for offensive pass interference.

On a run play you can direct the offensive player to block a defender that is on a magnet. If contact is made, the defender must come off of the magnet at that point and his position can not be directed.

If this is not done it will be a penalty on the defense for holding. Make a note in your rule book.
